Guy Cranston
Guy Cranston grew up in Baie d’Urfé, a lively suburb on Montreal’s West Island. Creativity runs in the family. His mother was a Landscape oil painter, brother Toller was a well known artist and legendary Olympic figure skater.
Guy’s bird sculptures are unique. He cuts blocks of pine into rough bird shapes, refines them with grinders and abrasives, paints and covers them with small many 100’s of brightly coloured wire “feathers.” Each bird is completely unique.
Guy has shown his work in galleries across Canada and was honored to send former Prime Minister Trudeau many pieces to be used as “Diplomatic Gifts”
His attitude towards his work is straightforward, his favourite piece is always whatever he’s creating at the current moment. He enjoys the creative process and his birds have found homes worldwide.
